2021 Kaitiaki Kids explore Eye on Nature
The Kaitiaki Kids were invited to attend Auckland Council's Eye on Nature fun day at the Botanic Gardens. The theme this year was mai nga maunga ki te moana, ko te wai te oranga, from the mountains to the sea, water is life.
We had a great day visiting the Gardens and learning lots about the importance of our sea life. Here are some photos from our day.

Responsible Rubbish Rising Stars
On Friday Room 12 & 13 raided the shed to collect rubbish bins and tongs. We were a little bit disappointed to see some rubbish around the school, but it felt really good being part of the clean-up crew and keeping our Middle School and Field Area super tidy. Some of the unusual objects we discovered was a Harry Potter wand, big pieces of wood and a screw. We hope to see less rubbish around so that we have a tidier environment.

2020 Term 3 Stream Clean
- Write a letter to our local government asking them to trim the bushes around the stream so we can go and do a stream clean up - we could see a lot of rubbish but couldn't get to it.
- Write a letter to our local government to ask about cleaning up around "the tree" as there is a lot of broken glass. We also want to ask them to trim the branches and remove the dangerous tree hut that has been made.
- Write a script and speak at whole school assembly about the amount of litter found and what we should be doing as a school.
